Congratulations to The CK’s Cardinals for their win against Farrah Builders Scout Team on Sunday November 6, 2011!

    Winning the game 6 – 4!

    Shout outs:

The Cardinals (17-4) won the semi finals early Sunday morning vs the Berkely Bandits (15-3) behind LHP Tom Giunta (Marlboro HS) who hurled a gem and struck out 12 in 8 innings of work. The offensive attack was led by Jake Vanderveer (Raritan HS) who ignited 2 big innings for the Cardinals.

Later in the day, The Cardinals were faced off against #1 seed Farrah Scout (20-1) for the JSFBL Championship. Although the team was down after only one inning, the Cardinals fought back several times in this seasaw battle behind RHP Danny Gutch (Raritan HS). Zac Vuono (St. Rose HS) hit a bases loaded double in the 5th inning that drove in 2 runs tieing the game at 4. Then in the 7th, Robby Baccala (Marlboro HS) drove in his 2nd of 3 rbi on the day with a single to right field. The Cardinals would continue to hold onto the lead as relief pitcher David Maselli (Princeton HS) closed out the final 3 innings and got Farrahs leading hitter Joe Dudek to ground out for the final out of the game. The team not only had timely hits in this hard fought game, but the stellar play on defense by Robby Baccala and Thomas Elkow (St Rose HS) was a major contribution to the win. Catcher Michael Zigman (Marlboro HS)  also had a timely assist  when he threw out the potential tieing run in the 7th inning putting a damper on the comeback hopes of the Farrah team. Congrats to the team, and Coaches Sal Palmieri and Chris Hansen on a great fall season.
